The OUYA, the crowd-funded video game console is finally coming to an end. Following OUYA's bankruptcy in 2015, it was acquired by game hardware developer Razer, who has dutifully supported the system, and will continue to support it until June 25th, 2019. Razer had mopped up the Android Console market, what little there was, with the Razer Forge TV system, which will also be discontinuing game services after June 25th. Razer will also be ending service to the handful of Mad Catz MOJO consoles as well.

It is a real shame the OUYA never panned out. I still remember when the Kickstarter was going and being amazed that it got fully funded in 8 hours.

It is really too bad, as the idea of a console indie devs could work on and for is still a great idea. Sadly, the OUYA just had way too many problems for that community to really get going, and without it there wasn't much point to the little thing.
