The German army looks over a then-new American M3 Lee tank in 1941. The M3, though unusual in size and firepower, created the mass-production infrastructure for it's successor, the M4 Sherman in 1942. The M3 Lee featured a 37-mm cannon on top, with 2 extra machine guns in the turret, a 75-mm howitzer in the hull, and even a pair of forward-facing machine guns for the driver to use. The machine gun ports for the driver are between the visible forward headlight, and the tow cable- so as the vehicle advanced, the driver could pound structures, vehicles, and any infantry too slow to duck to pieces in short order.
