This guy's always been such a smooth player. I saw him 2 or 3 times in the seventies where he (Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush) would be part of those great Seattle Center Coliseum triple bill concerts. A typical one would have been say... Aerosmith, Ted Nugent & Kansas - $6.00 - Festival Seating. <--- which basically meant first come first served as seating went or... no seats are reserved etc. If ya wanted to be on the floor and as close to the band/front of the stage as possible then ya got in line outside as early as possible and when the cops on horses got the ok to let the line loose ya rushed the doors, gave the man yer ticket, took a little search/rubdown then RAN for the floor and staked your spot in front of the stage. There were never any seats/chairs on the floor. Good times... Weed was smoked fervently in the seats and on the floor. Joints/doobies were being passed everywhere without any concern for the arena security. They did nothing and completely overlooked everything/anything they saw. This is a 12,000 person coliseum that's engulfed in a cloud of Gold Columbian smoke lol.... It/we were crazy. This guy's always been such a smooth player. My new guitar. Bought a companion to go along with my Scheckter Omen. This is an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plustop PRO in heritage classic cherry sunburst. That's a long one lol. Now of course to get Gibson's equivalent one would have to pay many thousands of dollars. But... Epiphone is owned by and is part of Gibson and I'm tellin' ya, this thing's the real deal in quality and performance but chimes in at around 600 bones on the price tag. I've owned a LP Custom from Gibson (which was great) and again...real close. My new guitar. Bought a companion to go along with my Scheckter Omen. That is a beauty! ...And yes, Epiphone IS the real deal. Remember that nice white SG you have seen Aaron and me playing in the band? Guess what. That is actually an Epiphone. Gibson quality at a fraction of the cost. To me, that is a real deal. That is a beauty! ...And yes, Epiphone IS the real deal. Hi Rick, I don't rmbr that SG particularly but yeah man... so cool. The SG in general is such a famous guitar. Without looking it up now and taxing my mind.... I'm thinkin' "SG" stood for "Solid Guitar". I played one once but have to admit, don't know much about it. I played a couple hall party gigs back in the day where my buddy John sported an SG. Damn he was good. Right there in the pocket. His was kind of a mahogany or red-toned wood one... put up with my memories brother... Hi Rick, I don't rmbr that SG particularly but yeah man... so cool. Most Gibson SG guitars were that translucent reddish mahogany color. there were some in other colors, but most of the other colors were actually Epi's. I always thought the "SG" stood for "Special Guitar", but I could be mistaken in that. I do know the electronics in an SG are actually Les Paul components....in fact, I believe the SG is actually part of the Les Paul family of guitars.

As to putting up with your memories? I am right there with ya. Even though due to physical issues, I am really not active in music anymore, I still carry a LOT of great memories with me, and those can never be taken away. Good times!

Had to look 'er up... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibson_SG In a nutshell. it's 1961 and Les Paul's were declining in sales so they came up with the cheaper built Gibson Les Paul SG. But they did this without Les's permission and he didn't like the guitar. They changed the name to just SG (Solid Guitar) or solid body guitar etc. So yeah, indeed it started out as part of the LP family of guitars. Check out that Frank Marino vid I posted here for some great SG playin' Had to look 'er up... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibson_SG In a nutshell. it's 1961 and Les ...See more

Over the past 10 yrs or so I seem to have become more of a fan of college fb than pro. The ridiculous anthem protests are a joke but it started way before that. Probably started with the celebrations. Yes, we've had them for decades and I loved the crazy end zone dances when I was growing up in the 70's and 80's and cool novelty things but... these days, too many examples of individual displays that scream "Look at ME!!!" happening. For example, some lineman or whoever makes a semi-decent tackle, jumps up and starts runnin' around the field flexing his muscles. What a fu*king idiot. Your team's down 38 -7 and you feel like celebrating? Too much of that. It's a team sport, well... supposed to be. R.I.P Tomah-Sparta Raceway. After four years, the Tomah-Sparta Raceway has crossed its final checkered flag. Will there still be racing in Tomah? Only time can tell.

I saw the proverbial writing on the wall toward the end of the season last year. It was overall a pretty rough season, at least looking at it from the inside. But who knows? Maybe someone can come along and pick it up and move forward with it. At this point though, TSR is no longer, and that makes me a little sad.I saw the proverbial writing on the wall toward the end of the season last year. Well....guess what!! I just learned that thr track formerly known as Tomah-Sparta "Raceway" has meen acquired by a new manager. The track WILL be open this year after all. The "new" name? Tomah Sparta SPEEDWAY. TSR is gone, but it looks like the new manager is going to do great things for the track. Wether or not I am still in the picture out there still remains to be seen (and discussed) but no matter what, I plan on supporting the track in any way I can.Well....guess what!! I like the convenience of today's digital music machines, but... man, nothing comes close to the crazy cool analog stuff from the 60's and 70's. Have a look at this!

Yes, the 1960's and 70's had some pretty far out creations as far as entertainment systems go. Remember Console stereo systems? How about those HUGE console color TV sets! Ah yes....those were the days.........
