Over the past 10 yrs or so I seem to have become more of a fan of college fb than pro. The ridiculous anthem protests are a joke but it started way before that. Probably started with the celebrations. Yes, we've had them for decades and I loved the crazy end zone dances when I was growing up in the 70's and 80's and cool novelty things but... these days, too many examples of individual displays that scream "Look at ME!!!" happening. For example, some lineman or whoever makes a semi-decent tackle, jumps up and starts runnin' around the field flexing his muscles. What a fu*king idiot. Your team's down 38 -7 and you feel like celebrating? Too much of that. It's a team sport, well... supposed to be. I like college FB the problem is there are a lot of games where it is something like #2 Clemson vs Rutgers and I say to myself "This isn't even a contest." SEC is king BTW

How can a torso and abdomen wound from an AR-15 make you recover in just under 12 days? If you got shot in those areas, you would be instantly dead.

Depends on the ammo, depends on the angle, depends on how many other objects the round traveled through before it reached the injured person or persons in question.

Again, it would depend on what type of ammo was used, and what the shooter was firing through to strike the target in question- be it people or obstacles. The notion someone could survive such a thing is unlikely but not impossible. That article does, however, underscore the pretty common sense notion that the AR-15 and other semi-auto weapons should all really be recategorized under the NFA Title II to keep them out of the hands of all but the most serious gun enthusiasts (i.e., not maniacs). But, that's just my 2 cents on the matter.Again, it would depend on what type of ammo was used, and what the shooter was firing through to strike the target in question- be it people or obstacles. This is a British Churchill VII AVRE, a battlefield engineering unit designed to bust bunkers and carry equipment into battle with other tanks. The Churchill is a massive, heavy, monster of a machine in any configuration, so how they managed to get it tipped over on it's side in this photo from 1944 is a mystery...

Here's something you don't see everyday! While perusing Craigslist, I ran across this in the electronics section- a 1980 Sony front-projection TV. These things are immense, and were ludicrously expensive for the short time they were produced, but this guy was giving his away for free- granted you can get it out of the house. Easier said than done I'd imagine... It seems to me that this would be something NJP would have had kicking around at some point! Here's something you don't see everyday! Well ... Believe it or not...............
    OH no, another NJP story:

Actually you are not too far off the point. Back in early 1981 (in my early band days) I was friends with a bar owner who had one of these things set up in his bar. In fact, that was the machine I saw Star Trek - The Motion Picture for the first time.
I remember it was basically a really bright TV with the image backwards, shining through a huge lens onto a mirror aimed at the screen. A real pain to set up. The picture was not all that bright. Had to dim the lights in order to see it, but it did look pretty impressive...that is given the level of "technology" at the time.

Too bad I missed out on this freebie. I bet we could have made something cool from it. I am sure the original electronics would have been long since removed, but oh the possibilities! Id nothing else, it would be a cool showpiece from times gone by....a relic -- err, a "classic"! Oh, the word now would be "Vintage".
